Traveling by car?

Cambridge located at 50 miles (80 km) from London, counts with good rail services and road communication links, easily accessible, whether traveling by car, or by public transport.

From London Cambridge is connected by the M11 or the A10.

Murray Edwards is situated on Huntingdon Road, 1 mile west of Cambridge City Centre.

From the M11, take junction 13 onto the A1303 towards the City Centre.
From the A14, take junction 31 onto the A1307 towards the City Centre.

Public Transport

Cambridge is located 50 miles (80 km) from London, it boasts excellent rail services and road communication links.

By Train

There are regular services to Cambridge from London, trains depart from Kings Cross or Liverpool Street stations in London.The fastest "Cambridge Cruiser" services to and from King's Cross runs directly, takes under 50 minutes, The semi-fast service have some intermediate stops and take about 65 minutes, and finally slower stopping trains may take up to 90 minutes.

Direct trains from Stansted airport to Cambridge take only 25 minutes.

Trains also run to and from Ipswich, Norwich, Peterborough and Birmingham.

If you are coming in from the North or Scotland the best route is to come via Peterborough. For example if you are coming from Newcastle and you come via Peterborough it takes just 3hrs 40mins.

The train station is situated on the south of the centre; there are regular buses into town and a taxi rank outside the station.
If you wish to catch the bus firstly get a bus into the city centre. Then at the Post office on St Andrews street take a Citi bus number 5 or 6. These run every twenty minutes.

Bus/Coach

The Bus station is situated on Drummer Street, close to city centre. The buses run every ten minutes and service to major cities around the country.

Also there are frequent coach services from the centre of London to Cambridge and departures from Victoria coach station (near Victoria railway station), the journey takes about 2 hours. The tickets for the coach can be bought from the driver.

By cycle

Cambridge is very accessible by cycle by the National Cycle Network, routes 11 and 51 both pass through Cambridge.

By Air

Getting to Cambridge by air is very easy. London's international airports are very close to the city. The London Stansted Airport is the closest major airport, about 30 miles away.

From Stansted airport Cambridge is within easy reach by rail, coach or taxi. The train services to Cambridge are operated by Central Trains and the journey takes about 30 minutes. The coach services to Cambridge run once per hour, and take about 50 minutes. Tickets can be purchased from the coach ticket desk in the arrivals area of the terminal or on the coach. Outside there are taxis.

Rynair and Easyjet both fly into Stansted.

By Boat

Ferrys come into the UK from various ports. The nearest port to Cambridge is Harwich. The ferrys from Harwich sail to the Hook of Holland and Esbjerg. The port is about 77 miles away (depending on route taken to Cambridge) There is also a train station with frequent connections to London Liverpool street.

The Eurostar is a great aid in helping delegates arrive to Cambridge quickly and simply. With a Through Fare it is possible to travel from Cambridge to Paris (in as little as 4 hours) and Brussels (in as little as 3 hours 50mins). These services connect at London St Pancras.
