We invite you to submit material for our ePoster session, which will run throughout the three days of the presentation programme.
Rather than the traditional cardboard panels on display boards, we plan to use a projector to present the poster information electronically on a continuous basis - hence the description 'ePoster'.
ePoster material will also be available to all delegates throughout the conference via smartphones, tablets or laptops, and will be prominently advertised. It will also be available on the conference website after the conference is over.
Please click these images to see a full-screen versions. These are examples of the kind of format which might be used, but as with any PowerPoint presentation there are no rigid format requirements. Authors have scope for flexibility in presenting their material to best advantage.
ePosters are we think an ideal medium for sharing ideas and information, for stimulating useful discussion and for making contact with fellow glass enthusiasts.
The way this works is as follows:
- An ePoster may be submitted by any delegate who has registered (and paid) for the conference
- Each ePoster will look like a short PowerPoint presentation - a title slide followed by five slides of information; this corresponds to the amount of information usually presented on a traditional poster.
- The slides will automatically be presented in sequence so that each slide remains on screen for about 15 seconds.
- Each ePoster will be repeated three times before the system moves on to the next one - a total exposure time of about 4 minutes
- ePosters will be displayed throughout the conference from 9.00am to 7.00pm each day
- From the start of the conference the accepted ePosters will be present on the conference website using the page format you can see in this examples given above
- This page design can be accessed via tablets and mobile smartphones, as well as via laptops
- The list of ePosters being displayed will be available to delegates and each ePoster will carry the URL of its website page to allow delegates to access an ePoster of interest immediately
- We ask each presenting author of each ePoster to make available some appropriate means of making contact - email address and/or mobile phone number, for example - so that interested delegates could contact the presenting author for discussion or to arrange a meeting if desired.
- Towards the end of the conference a links page will be put in place on the conference website to open up all the ePoster content to any interested website visitor
